How To Get Social Proof In Your Checkout Process

All of you using 1ShoppingCart are in some way involved in a business. Either you’re the business owner, marketing for a business, or running the web side of things.

And many of you are “lucky” enough to be doing all three. :)

So I’m sure most, if not all, are intimately familiar with the concept of social proof, and how important it is when selling your products.

There are few things more powerful than learning other people, just like yourself, give their testimonial about a particular product or service.

You see this in action everywhere, and every good sales process has many real life testimonials from folks.

So how nice would it be to also have this social proof for your potential clients shown on the checkout page, right before they are making the decision to purchase?

Well, if any of you have tried doing this yourself you know that 1ShoppingCart doesn’t make it easy. In fact it took me a little bit to figure it out myself, and I’ve had programming experience.

So what I’ve done, just for you, is create a product that will walk you through the simplest and easiest way to accomplish having testimonials show up on your 1ShoppingCart Checkout or Cart Content Pages.

I’ve implemented it myself for clients, and I’ll show you exactly what you need to do to to get testimonials to appear on your checkout pages, to really convince those people who haven’t quite made up their minds to purchase your product.

“I was very pleased with the look and feel of my how my 1ShoppingCart testimonials came out on my shopping cart. You took care with every detail and I was able to instal this within 5 minutes, thank you.”

Not only do I show you, in an easy to understand step by step format, how to add testimonials to the check out and cart content pages, but I also show how you can add different, specific testimonials to each individual product pages!

This means that you can add a testimonial about product X, right on product X’s checkout page! It’s hard to beat that social proof!

And this isn’t limited to just testimonials. I lay out the framework for you, but you can replace these testimonials with whatever you want, for example, your great guarantee on your products.

(You do offer a great guarantee right? :) )

Imagine, you’re the customer trying to decide whether you really want to purchase this product, and then you glance over and are reminded about the terrific guarantee you offer. It’s a great way to increase conversions.

So what will this ability to increase your conversions cost you? Well it took hours to create, and at $135 per hour it would be perfectly reasonable to charge about $500 for this.

Many of you can justify the cost of this with an increase of just 1 or 2 sales. But I’m not going to charge $500, and in fact, I’m not going to charge even half that amount.

Because I want to help out as many of you 1ShoppingCart users as I can, it’s going to cost you less than a hundred bucks, so even those of you with lower priced products can quickly make up the difference with an extra 2-3 conversions.

For $89.97, I’ll show you exactly how to implement this on your own shopping cart, so you can set it up for as many products as you’d like.

And that’s not all, if you have any trouble whatsoever, just send me a quick email and I’ll be happy to help you out.

So don’t delay, be sure to have the power of social proof working for you in as many places as possible, and pick up your copy of “1ShoppingCart Testimonial Template For Checkout” now.

Add Multiple Quantities For Your Visitors To Order

Author: Tyler Sorensen

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

I just got a question from a client and instantly thought of my readers. The question is a simple one to answer and yet, no one knows about it.

You see my client sells Chocolate and when someone goes to order most customers want to order more than 1. So how do we set it up for someone to order 2, 3, 5, 10 or even 100 chocolates in one order so it’s seamless for the customer?

Sure they could go to the order page and change the quantity themselves. But don’t you think that you will lose sales by doing this?

I sure do.

Now I haven’t tested this personally but I can tell you from my experience that you are losing sales if your clients have to add the quantity manually because the client will forget or will see the price and back out.

So here’s a quick fix for this solution.

At the end of the product URL to the order form all you need to do is add the following:

&qty=2

The number at the end is the quantity you would enter. In the example above I am adding a total of 2 products to the order. If I wanted to add 10, all I would do is change the 2 to a 10.

So here’s an example.

To order just 1 of my Affiliate Program Setup Packages I would just use the 1-step checkout URL and it looks like this:

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/SecureCart/SecureCart.aspx?mid=E919F4C9-ADAF-4A66-9807-63E1E74FD68E&pid=002508019ecbde7ccc9614e63d8710fb&bn=1

Then if I wanted to add 2 or more my link would look like this:

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/SecureCart/SecureCart.aspx?mid=E919F4C9-ADAF-4A66-9807-63E1E74FD68E&pid=002508019ecbde7ccc9614e63d8710fb&bn=1&qty=2

Now, if you have a programmer you can do a drop down list where clients can choose their quantities and it would automatically add that many to their order.

It’s that simple! Talk to you soon.

Setting Up A Product For Free – Pros And Cons

Author: Tyler Sorensen

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Have you seen all the offers for free trials of products posted all over the web?

Why do you think this is? The answer is simple. The conversion rates of these offers are through the roof. We just got done testing this offer for one of my clients who receives over 1,000 unique visitors a day and it doubled his conversions.

Yes, you read that correctly, DOUBLED his conversions!

However, there are a few issues with setting up a product for free, especially if it’s a downloadable product and you don’t charge shipping.

If the initial purchase is for free or $0.00, 1ShoppingCart will not send this transaction to the gateway for verification. So someone could put in a false credit card and they will receive your product and when the time comes to charge the credit card after the free trial it will come up declined and you are out the money!

However, there are two options around this.

  1. You can change the offer to a $1 offer… We call it the “Try It For A Buck” offer. For this the card will be charged $1. This still pulls better than a normal full price offer, however it doesn’t convert as high as the free offer. There is something psychological that triggers in the buyers mind if the word free is presented. So for this offer the card will be charged 1.00, then charged the remainder at the end of the trial.
  2. If you ship products, run a free offer and then charge shipping. This way the product is free but 1ShoppingCart will charge the shipping and you can verify the credit card is valid.

In fact, the second option is exactly how we setup the offer which just recently doubled our conversions.

Hope this helps, and as you know, I am the 1ShoppingCart Expert so if you need anything don’t be afraid to ask.
